As for headlights getting cloudy again, periodic re-polishing might take you all of two minutes, if you didn’t want to try and coat them with something. If you don’t let them get to the stage where they are half opaque, it takes next to nothing to get them clear again.

It’s like washing your car or cleaning the insides of your windows. It’s just routine maintenance.
