My wife read somewhere that putting a dollop of peanut butter on the wall of the bath so the dog can lick it will give them something to do rather than fight you.
Our beagle, named Bagel, wasn't amused and still hates the bath, peanut butter or not. It has become a 2 person job. One to hold leash and the other to do the job.
Meanwhile the TerriPoo loves it and just runs around the house crazy when it is over.
The only other suggestion is to close the doggy door before bath time begins. Once we didn't do that and immediately after the bath one of the dogs went out and rolled around in the dirt. Bath number 2 followed.
