We rarely see a broken one in our shop percentage of vehicles wise. But we have seen it. They get broken when some person screws up trying to remove it for engine drop etc. They don't just break from normal wear and use...
Zip tie is not the correct repair. It will "work" but not correct....

It sells for $203.05 on Pelican. Two cents of black zip ties fixes the problem 100% and almost no one will notice them. I like my car to work in top condition and all system work as designed, or much better than when it left the factory. I can't see spending over 200 bucks to have it look a little better in the engine compartment.
