Nova would be a good choice. The Mercedes would be the best road trip car. The Germans had the autobahn back then and the Mercedes had at least disc brakes in the front, maybe in the back, I don't remember them though. And a 4 speed on the tree.
I probably would have to go to the dealer to get pistons and bearings for the Merc.
