I don't have much experience with them, ridden them twice, and there were some here on our property that we got to interact with before we bought it. There seems to be so much intelligence in their eyes. They are really beautiful animals, but yes, they are big and require respect both as a sentient animal and as a large animal that could do you serious damage if so inclined.
