My suggestion when anything is off is to ask them to take a picture with the item in question + a paper slip with their user name on it or asking them to take a very specific picture with the item (take a picture with the pump next to a fork for example). They obviously won’t be able to do it given that they don’t have the item in their possession and will usually make a big fuss about it, blaming you for making things unnecessarily inconvenient
