It apparently has to do with allocations. Dealers get so many for the lot and beyond that have to prove (mine had to send copy of my drivers license to Ford) a customer order. Salesman said at least half of their vehicles are sold to out of state customers. Saw a blue version of my truck waiting for a guy to drive up from Texas.
