Just an additional comment regarding bulb types... LEDs work great on reflectors, but not the case through projectors. If the bulb you are replacing is behind a projector and new halogen bulbs don't solve the issue, then go for HID (xenon) bulbs. Another thing to take into consideration is the lumen output and the color temperature of the bulbs (5K is supposed to give an impression of brighter light).
