I figured that it was a rental and it's not possible to alter the tire selection at this time. That lane assist sounds like a nightmare on a snowy road. As others have said, slow and smooth is good. I've driven I-70 between Denver and Aspen countless times, in all 4 seasons, it's a beautiful road but it can kill you.

Locals tend to really bend the envelope wrt speed on that highway in snowy conditions. Don't pace them or match their speed...take it easy. You are in a great vehicle if you utilize it properly. 4WD can help in a straight line due to engine braking and traction, *if you're not going too fast.*

I'm glad to hear about the snowfall, the entire west is off to a great start in terms of precipitation. No place in North America gets as much snow as California, check it out:
