You need to have the regulator replaced. The green plastic pulleys disintegrate over time, resulting in the grinding sound as the cables go haywire. Had to replace both doors' regulators, and learned that the aftermarket URO regulators rapidly fail due to bad design.
Here you should only use OEM Porsche part. I strongly recommend having an indie Porsche shop do the work as there is complicated work involved to remove/install airbag bombs, glass alignment, recalibrate electronics.
