Meh….. It’s the west. There are fires in the west, same as centuries past. I’ve been through two and was not in any danger. You keep your insurance up to date and a bug out bag at the ready. Small price to pay IMO.
In some cases here (not the Marshall fire) the Forest Service is hamstrung by higher powers, keeping them out of the Forest. The ladders fuels get higher, no prescribed burns or logging allowed, and large crown fires are the result. Crown fires cannot be fought.
I wouldn’t mind less people in the urban areas but the traffic isn’t comparable to LA or Dallas at all. The two lanes are okay on a summer week day but are lightly traveled during the week in spring/fall. Dawn drives during summer weekends have clear roads too.
