getting reacquainted with oatmeal for breakfast.
one of the benefits of telework! i get to sit here, and simmer some oats. steel cut oats.
i do streamline the process by using the Bob's Red mill stuff that cooks a tiny bit faster. i dont know why a fell off the wagon. it is so good. i sweeten it with chopped up Majool dates. i would use Dried Prunes but that probably TOO MUCH fiber. like "crossing the beams" with fiber. no thanks.
for the record. i ate it for a year straight. every work day, a big bowl of oatmeal. it did ZERO to lower my cholesterol numbers. zero. its not the silver bullet we all are looking for. i still remember giving some blood samples thinking, "my doctor is gonna be surprised.."
"Mr Vash, your cholesterol numbers are still on the higher side of the spectrum..."
"!@#$#!@$!#!!" come to think of it, it's probably why i quit eating it. hahah.
