Here is what I do. I have the Quaker (or store brand) 1 minute oats.
Take 1-2 tsp of brown sugar and then mix in a "dash" or cinnamon. (I have a tiny measuring spoon marked dash). You do not need a ton of cinnamon. Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together with a fork for about 5 seconds.
Add 1/2 cup of 1 minute oats and 1 cup of water. Microwave for 2 min 30 sec. (1200 Watts, longer if your microwave is lower Watts).
Stir and let it cool to taste, then drop on a layer of Quaker Simply Granola. This adds both flavor and texture.
I switched to this since last April with not much change in the rest of my diet and my cholesterol dropped from just barely in the bad range to dead in the middle of the excellent range.
