I agree w/ the Toyota tech, if you do your own maintenence I would simply go through it methodically; system by system, eliminating weak/faulty components. Toyotas are pretty darn bullet-proof, shouldn't take long to find the problem. And "motor flushes" are BS, IMO, just change your oil regularly.
