toyotas either run perfect or they don't, check your vacuums (as mentioned) put in some new plugs/wires and check the timing, toyos like a little advance.
2 other things, disconnect the battery for about 5 minutes to reset the computer.
and is the 02 sensor original? they can wreck havoc on imports.....my corollas was dying slowly....one day the check engine light came on (died completely) and the car ran perfect, it had every symptom you describe
