Hey everyone,
So it seems like the people around me have caught the air-cooled bug..
Me and some family have a group chat where we share car content and deals we come across. The other day my cousin sent a car in the chat that almost looked too good to be true but I ended up getting in contact with the seller.
Long story short, the owner of old age passed away and his son-in-law was in charge of selling some of his things. He mentioned the car was parked in the 90's due to a fuel issue. The odometer read 26,xxx miles and all receipts show mileage in the teens. The interior of the car showed to be in very nice shape.
We got a chance to see the car the morning after the car was listed online. We were coming to get it for a decent deal but we ended up paying the sellers asking price since there was about 10 others in line behind us and several were offering full asking. I can't disclose what we paid for the vehicle since other parties were involved. It was a very fair price if everything checks out, but I wouldn't say it was 'cheap'.
We picked the car up and dropped it off at our buddies that detail vehicles here locally. They have a YouTube channel called WD Detailing. They were able to clean it up and really bring out the paint and imperfections as well.
We then took the car to a family garage where we were able to troubleshoot all day Saturday and actually got it to fire up and run! That video will be coming out in the next few weeks, definitely one to keep an eye out for.
The video below shows the car in the condition it was picked up in and how well it cleaned up after some detailing.
I'll post all progress on here, feel free to share any insight. Enjoy!
