Intake removal is a lot easier with engine out, it can be done but get the car up on stands so your lower back is not always bent. While you have it up and off check the top of the motor and oil cooler, easier to
clean if oil has been leaking. Get all the little rubber vacuum elbows and tees you will replace those. And the throttle bell crank bushings. Blower motor may be bad if it was unplugged.
