Back in '05 when I was looking at possibly acquiring a 356, I had joined the 356 Register a year earlier just to get familiar with them though the words and comments of actual owners. It was great - I learned so much! But to the point - there was one fella who routinely posted when he ran across classifieds of them. One very early morning as I was checking my email, (the Registry back then was a List-serve) I saw one of his and clicked on the eBay link. It was located in Ft. Lauderdale with no bids yet and a BIN I thought very do-able. I ended up jumping on it and that's where my 356 came from. Another member who just wanted to share his findings with his fellow enthusiasts.
I wish I still had the post. It was something like "This one looks pretty good..."...lol....
The problem though with the BAT alerts is the prices these BAT auctions end up at is crazy and there is no BIN! But in my defense...one year ago
I did post the one here on eBay ----- that I ended up buying!
That one ended up around $6K and went to the last 5 seconds - no BIN. I was determined to win the auction though because I knew what that car was and it was WELL worth the $6K - and more!
Back to the auction.....currently sitting at $5,800 ending in 5 days.....
