After giving this some more thought, I think some that did not depend on motion sensors would be more practical in certain applications. These are usually referred to as "dusk to dawn". They would just have the photo cell and come on when the sun sent down and go back off when the sun came up. All on solar power.
They have some of these with the solar panel on a extension so you can mount the light independently of where the panel had to go, giving more flexibility in location.
That discussion aside, I just checked and all 4 light fixtures are working as advertised. I'm happy with their performance.
Took all of 15 minutes to mount all 4.

These ones have 3 modes. One mode stays on low and brightens when motion is detected. I have them on the mode where they just stay on the lower setting all the time, regardless of any motion. Easy to change modes - just press a button.
They come with extensions but I mounted mine without the extensions - directly to the side of my roof panel:
And this is the other fixture with the 3 lights that swivel around. They stay off unless motion is detected.
