We had Plott hounds growing up, as my dad crossed them with beagles for hunting snowshoe hares in Northern Michigan (their long legs, coupled with beagle's good nose, made for great advantage operating in deep snow in winter). As said here, typical hound dog: very affectionate, but a real wanderer if they catch a scent they like. They are more commonly used for racoon hunting (along with Redbones. They also have a great hound-dog howl! I have fond memories...enjoy whatever you have!!!
