Electric power "deregulation." In the PNW, here is what that means: The public built the dams, the transmission lines and most of the distribution infrastructure before there were 'private' utilities. And so...."deregulation" is where private companies come in and sell us the electricity we already own. Using the infrastructure we paid for. It is hard for me to understand how a customer can choose between several utilities when the electricity comes from the same source regardless of tho the vendor is.

And I fully expect there will one day be "deregulation" of our public water utilities. Won't that be fun. Private companies selling us something we would die without. Using infrastructure we built.
