A few have mentioned The Andy Griffith Show. That's always been a favorite. Barney Fife got a lot of love but my favorite was Otis Campbell (town drunk) played by Hal Smith. He upstaged Don Knotts a few times which wasn't easy to do.
The episode where Otis is the Mayberry resident who is descended from a Revolutionary War hero is a hoot.
But my favorite is when the jail is too full and Otis is confined to Andy's house with Aunt Bea as the Warden. She has him working and cleaning. He says going to Andy's house "Is like being sent to 'The Rock"
