It is partially a looks thing for me. But the last 2 sets of light truck/highway have not lasted long so I'm also open to a change

Exactly what I was thinking. When you look at the Discount or Tire Rack reviews the A/T's have pretty good reviews for ride comfort and noise. But in comparison to what???
When I drive into the city I usually hear some guy in a lifted truck coming well before he gets to me and well after he passes. I know exactly what to look for as he gets close. Usually much more aggressive tires than what I'm considering.
