Back in the day the RAF had the Short Belfast heavy lifter. It was the only aircraft on inventory that could shift the airfield fire-trucks as their wheel base was too long for the Hercules and they would wedge on the ramp hinge. I was told (probably not true) that on one occasion they loaded one up, took off - and barely made it airborne. When the Air Load-Master went back to work out WIHH, it was discovered the water / foam tanks were full. so they opened up the valves and let it all drain out.
As with all British projects, only ten were ever made. All only ever used by the RAF - who, when (due to some inevitable budget cut or another) they were retired, five were sold off to the Heavy Lift outfit.
