I made a retractable charging cord for the EV. You can buy one on line but they want $1700. My retractable air hose for my compressor works so well I thought maybe I can retrofit one. They work by utilizing an air tight swivel at the hub. Instead of paying 1700. for an electric swivel reel I bought another air hose reel for $59. at Harbor Freight. I gorilla taped the middle of the 30' 110v electric cord to the reel (and salvaging the air hose) and when I pull it out to charge, the female end spools out from the bottom of the reel, the male end spools out from the top of the reel backwards onto the floor in my storage room on the other side of the wall and stays plugged in. Works like a charm! I also installed a 240v receptacle next to it but rarely charge the car with it.
