ENGINE AND GEARBOX MATING UPDATE

Pelican Parts Gold -featured, a small load of gold from Pelican parts to help revive this 51 year old dream maker.

2.4 MFI Engine resting patiently on the engine stand. Notable improvements include some blasted and powder coated fan, extensive zinc plating, new fuel lines, and other odds and ends. There is some uncertainty around this motor, as its been rebuilt at some point and never fired. Ports, pistons, and more are all fresh of a rebuilt...so the anticipation to learn if she fires is high. Some prayers to the Porsche Gods to ensure she comes alive and has a long life ahead.

Rebuild 901 Gearbox, Lightened Flywheel, Sachs Pressure Plate and Clutch at the ready

FORGED CHROMOLY FLYWHEEL- I have always loved a fast revving motor and the herkie-jerkie surging of a motor equipped with a lightweight flywheel. It ads to the character of a manual gearbox and I can't wait to become proficient at managing it with grace.

CLUTCH PRESSURE PLATE - 225 mm Installed [/B] Part#: 911-116-001-05-M38

SACH CLUTCH INSTALLATIONPart#: 911-116-011-07-M38

Engine and Gearbox is ready for mating.

Engine and Gear Box Mated - They're finally in their new home, one step close

Admittedly, this project is undoubtedly overwhelming. I am sure that most of what I can refer to now as "my fellow classic Porsche owners" can relate. At this point, I have to place my perfectionism at bay and focus on the important things. Will the engine fire? Will the gearbox shift smoothly with fresh bushings, a precision Wevo shifter, and a little luck. The possibility of having a 911, let alone one that runs this Spring is only made possible by a dear friend, a very talented Porsche technician, Pelican parts, and more. Hope this format works, as I've not posted to forums in well over a decade. Open to suggestions for improvement should anyone have advice. Thanks for the read.
