Thanks for sharing. Reminds me of driving my 914 to Rennsport in Monterey, CA from Tampa, FL and back with my dad. Hope to do a similar trip in the future. You are right about the 30 mpg and 87 octane being one of the best parts of the Type 4. The 914 fuel tank is a little bit smaller than the 911/2 but I usually need to stop to piss at a quarter tank anyways. Pretty easy to argue that the L-jet fuel injection is more advanced than the CIS used on the 911s of the same generation. Love to see these cars driven. A stark contrast to many of the cars being shown at this event.
