Simple example: I was taught to hold the door open for whoever is behind me . I do the same, almost always getting a thank you for those older than me and often from those that are about my age. As people appear young than me the percentages go down. From that I have concluded that they just weren't taught to say thank you or even hold the door for someone behind them. Certainly, they were not taught taught to hold the door for a lady and let her go first.
So, for me fairness to the younger generation, it is hard for me to get mad at them, if they weren't taught, they don't know. If they don't know, well they don't know and if they don't know that it is polite then how do I get mad at them? All I can do is try and teach those in my circle.
