Much good advice here already.
Long Beach Airport for sure if you can get a flight there. Otherwise SNA would be my second choice.
Another data point, I live in Tustin about 12-15 minutes North of SNA. (Via 55fwy)
My wife commutes to CSULB for work a couple days a week. From on ramp to CSULB takes her 35 minutes at peak morning commute time. She uses 55 fwy N to 22 fwy W. Takes 7th street into campus.
The 405 is technically more direct…but depending on timing 55 fwy N to 22 fwy W can sometimes be faster.
As others have said…time of travel can make a bit of difference. (Plus construction)
Another bonus is if you happen to/have to travel at peak commute times the carpool lane can be a life saver. Wife commuted with our son and saved 20 minutes daily on the way home.
Long Beach aquarium could be another fun place to visit.
For LB P Car fun stop into Willhoit Auto Restoration.
John is a great guy! Get your 356 fill.
Plenty to do and see in the area to kill time.
Please PM if I can help directly. We have 4.5 and 9yo boys. Space to hang out outdoors if you’d need to burn a few hours before a flight out of SNA.
Best to you/your Daughter.
