Interesting question. I'd never wondered about it, but there have to be people that deal with it.

Yep, they hit those first too.
What's really effed up is that China only has 1 time zone despite the fact that the areas around them over the same longitude cover 5 different timezones.
So yeah, if you live in Beijing, you probably have relatively normal daylight/time, but if you live in the west side of the country, the sun might not rise until 11am or noon. What I remember reading is that the folks in other areas just let their lives revolve around daylight hours.
