I purchased a 2012 ML 350 in 2018. Gently used with 50 K. I did a due due diligence and didn't see any red flags. 8 months later the model was flagged as a smog cheater and what crappy smog controls weren't worth squat.

There was a class action lawsuit filed that "might" recover 50/100 on my repairs. Now the "fixes" that are mandated by US EPA and the lawsuit are fooking up the upstream devices like the EGR and nad nox devices.

Mercedes gave me an extended warranty on smog related devices. BUT I have to get them from Mercedes. The parts stream has been exhausted and the company will not allow third party provided parts from the same company.
