Congratulations. New guitar day is may favorite day of the year. I feel your excitement.

Now you get to go through the process of figuring out what strings will work best. When I got my Martin the store put on Martin flex core tommy Emanuel strings. He said they are the best strings he every used, even gave me a free set. I hated them……if you watch how tommy plays (very forcefully with thumb pick) you can see why he likes them and I don’t. Felt like telephone wires. I just got some john pierce phosphor bronze slightly light. (11- 50). I thought I would hate these being so light. No. The guitar was transformed into a vibrating beast and so easy to play

Don’t forget to register it

This is interesting, I didn’t check the serial number at the store when buying mine because they are a Martin dealer…. Got home and was registering it and looked up the serial number found out mine was built in 2001! Whoa. I’m guessing the store owner liked it and set it aside. It was brand new and never registered and I called Martin and they confirmed it was sold to this store in 2001 and never registered until I did. Im actually thrilled because I got an unplayed guitar with 21 year old wood and glue which is a good thing (so long as it was stored right which it seems to have been)
