If I drive to Dallas it is about 2.5 hours. And there is a pass in the Arbuckle Mountains, but it is not exactly a high mountain pass. I think the pass is about 1,100 feet above seal level. The range is some of the oldest mountains in the USA, 1.3 billion years old. There is a scenic overlook with spaces for 5 cars! No places to chain up, and snow tires are not required.
The average elevation in OKC is about 1,200 feet.
