heheh, I have this mental image of everyone excusing themselves one by one during the picnic and moving their cars over to the other side. No reason to piss the guy off, but it would have been pretty funny to everyone else.
Love the image name, BTW.
It reminds me of a story. Many years ago on the Rennlist email list, one of the guys from Imagine Auto (I think it may have been Stephen Kaspar) told this story.
His wife went to the grocery store in an older Porsche 911 that they had. Being a couple of enthusiasts, she thought "great, I get to park next to another Porsche." I think she parked next to a 996 or something like that, and when she got out, the woman in the 996 got out and in a really snobby tone something like "don't hit my NEW Porsche with the door of your OLD Porsche." The woman then walked into the store. I guess the tone rubbed his wife the wrong way, and the store was VERY close to home, so she jumped back in the car and went home and traded the older 911 for their fancy, concours winning twin turbo. She then went back to the store and parked in the spot that she'd been in and sat in the car and waited. When the woman came back to her car, his wife got out and essentially repeated what the woman had said to her, something like "Please don't hit my NEW Twin Turbo Porsche with the door of your non-turbo Porsche."
Steve told it much better, but it was hilarious to me at the time (and still is).
