I pulled off the tape to check the condition of the plug. Looks like the goop was too solid to settle:
A noise outside made me look up. This was in my neighbor's drive:
I get distracted too easily. I Dremel'd out the surrounding plastic bits to create a valley:
Filled it with more goo:
And went downstairs to try my hand at the stitching. It... Didn't go so well.
