So, my thininking on garages is sheetrock is fine, easy to repaint if the mood strikes. Everybody thinks hanging stuff on plywood is the bomb, but, painting plywood looks meh, and unpainted isn't even meh.
And the more stuff you hang the more dust gathers, and it just multiplies.
Get a floor to ceiling double wide cabinet, put hooks in it and hang stuff in there. It will make you purge, and keep the place clean and looking sharp, and befor rocking, put 2x 8 cleats in and add some upper cabs to keep with the clean theme.
You'll thank me later.
Don't have cool old cabinets? IKEA makes super easy and super reasonable but fine looking cabinets.Cheap.

The Forgotten Coast is east of Tyndall AFB in Florida.
Ever seen The Truman Show with Jim Carrey? That was filmed in Seaside, FL before anyone knew where Seaside was. My undergrad degree is architecture and my class built one of the parks in Seaside in the early ‘90s. I thought it was perfect. And then after the movie came out Seaside went from this little hidden gem to the place everyone wanted to vacation. Then everyone wanted to copy the Seaside model — Santa Rosa Beach, Watercolor, Grayton Beach, etc etc. Everything exploded off of “scenic highway 30A” and it became a status symbol to put 30A stickers on your car. That meant you have the money to vacation someplace *cool*. A gazillion people showed up and everything that made Seaside awesome went away.
We’re east of all that. East of Tyndall AFB is Mexico Beach (where the eyewall of Hurricane Michael came ashore in 2018) and then we live in St Joe Beach. It gets it’s name from St. Joseph Bay which is formed by Cape San Blas. Everything from Mexico Beach to Apalachicola is called the Forgotten Coast around here. It’s one of the last vestiges of “Old Florida”. Apalachicola is famous for oysters (yum!). So we don’t want most people to know about it or it will spoil it.
Here’s a picture of my “backyard”.
