I don't remember what we had when I was a kid, but it was a black and white. Then the old man sprung for a color set when the prices became a little more reasonable. That's when I found out the second part of The Wizard of Oz was in color.
After my first wife and I got married (late 70s), her parents gave us their one ton floor console color set. Lousy picture and reception. I forget how we got rid of it or who helped move it out to the street. I don't really remember
what we did with it.
Then we bought our first nice set... one zakly like this 19" Hitachi I just found in a search. Great picture and we got cable. Yeehaa.
