No. Having had plenty of fentanyl on my hands and injected a LOT of it as well as delivered plenty nasally and working with hundreds who are in the same boat, exactly zero have ever had an issue. Skin is not alveoli or mucous membrane.
Fentanyl has some vapor pressure in solution form at room temp, but it is low. In solid form, it is likely much lower yet. It takes an intentional effort to aerosolize it and imagine carfentanil is the same. If unintentional vaporization were an issue, it wouldn't be useful as keeping it in a syringe for very long wouldn't work and injecting it would likely produce a gas embolism at body temp.
