I was too short to reach the ground so when done riding circles in the yard he would run out and grab me to get me off it.

Rode CT70's XR75's etc most every day in the mid to late 70's. Friends and I would ride to each others houses miles away and get into all sorts of trouble.

Later had old used KX250 and then Honda CR250. In college I finally got an old clapped out CR250 race bike and joined local MX track club with a buddy who had a truck and trailer to haul our bikes. Started practicing several times a week at track and racing. Almost immediately I started winning the 250C class and the following year bought a slightly newer CR250 ('86) and won nearly every race entered. Following year I got a '90 new CR250 and qualified for and raced the Lorretta Lynn's Amateur National Championship. Following year I qualified and raced same race in 250B class. After that, injuries, living on my own and working for a living made me give it up.

After many other hobbies including airplanes, snowmobiles, race cars etc, Nothing comes close to the thrill I got out of the great sport of MX racing. I truly miss it to this day and likely still have a few more 50+ races in me. (my wife may not agree)

I have some mini MX bikes for my grandkids and if I get one hooked and am at the track for them anyway.... might as well sign up for the 50+ class.

You da man, dawg! My buddies had a 81 Z-50 and it was bullet proof. My other buddy got a 82 xr-100 and it was pretty cool. All of past bikes were paid for by flipping burgers and hard labor. I wasn't blessed with a chance to race with the big shots, just local stuff. I had to pay for my schooling..working and going to school was how it went for me. You are da man!
