From what I heard, the screech cause the ground crew nausia and folks could hear it from miles away. It was a aviation experiment by see how fast you could spin up a prop and to see if it could be used at high airspeeds. I think the prop was so powerful it actually started to spin the airplane. But it caught my attention because its unusual and kind of cool.
