I wouldn't mind seeing a similar law on the books here in CA. But trying to get authorities to enforce it is another thing altogether.

I know that some will think this is 'Big Brother' clamping down on a citizen's God-given right to make lots of noise for no good reason, but in some areas this is more of an issue than in others. One of the latest trends around here is for groups of guys from outside the local area (mostly in Camaros, Challengers & Mustangs, all with modified exhausts) to cruise around town on the weekends in a slow-moving parade. They'll keep their motors wound up in the lower gears and run 'em to the redline after every stop. I know, I know..."What's the big deal?" Not a big deal at all if out in a rural area with few people around, but if you like walking, biking, or you happen to live along one of the popular cruising routes in town, all that racket can get old pretty quick.

No factory sport exhaust comes even close to the noise level of some of these aftermarket kits, or from a big V-twin motorcycle or sport bike running a modified exhaust or straight pipes.
