Steering Faulty

good morning :
I know this is not a new topic to many of us Porsche owners but it is a royal pain; its the Steering Faulty message on my 2008 Cayenne the dealer tells me the Steering column has failed and I need to do an R & R on the column at cost of $4200.00. I actually went through this same repair in 2015 at a cost then of $2000.00. in 2015 The dealer diagnosed "A steering column lock control unit " has failed. According to my Durametric the current fault code is "288 Electronic steering column lock failure" I have done more reeasrch this time around and I have found that the ELV Module is responsible for this problem and for this the dealer will not replace the Module and as far as I can find out to buy one is impossible which doesn't make any sense. I realize even if a new one was available it would have to be programmed to the Kessy on my car..
To make a long story short I have found a company in Florida that says if I will send them the (ELV Module, the Kessy, and the ignition key) that they can repair the ELV Module and reprogram back to the Kessy for $399.00 or they can reprogram the Module to read a continual open lock signal tfor #599.00 therefore the Module would never cause this failure again. Now my question is have any of you heard of this repair or, have you had it done, and was it successful; and what company did the work for you??
Thank you 09 Cayenne
