Bede’s remarkable LiteStar was based on his BD-5J jet design, with a fiberglass, wingless airplane body covering two inline passenger seats, and a 400cc Yamaha engine. The frame included a pair of rollbars, and two small outrigger wheels on stubby ‘wings,’ which only touched the ground while cornering or at rest. Thus the LiteStar only ever touched three wheels at a time, allowing it to be licensed as a motorcycle.
