A guy I flew with left the Navy got out and got an advanced degree from USC (Cali) in manufacturing and production. He was a "green field" manager for Toyota: meaning there is a field, then there is a car manufacturing facility.
He told me the absolute easiest and cheapest (in terms of production costs) vehicles are trucks. "Not even close."
Again, I love my Tundra, I am just not going to pay for a new one, or any other 1/2 ton, if I can help it.
