Funny, we were stationed in Japan (twice, actually), and that's where he got his system. The second time that we went back I got a system. We both had Sansui components.
THis is one that he had.
And the system that I bought looked similar to this. It was a mid-80s component system with turntable, double-auto-reverse cassette deck, CD player, equalizer and amp/preamp. I had Kenwood speakers
