Celebrating her 96th birthday, the BBC ran a story this morning about Her Majesty's sense of humour.

I especially like thew story about two American tourists who were walking through Balmoral gardens one rainy day who met the Queen and a body guard. When they asked whether she had ever met the Queen, the old girl replied, "No. But he has."
In '73, Her Majesty and Prince Phillip were in Charlottetown. An avenue of small flags had been made on the lawns of the Lt. Governors residence so they could walk through the crowds and do a greeting. Two girls in front of me had taken up flags and were waving them. Prince Phillip as he came by stopped and remarked, "Ah! Picking the flags, are we?"
Got to have a sense of humour.
Best
