Our insurance policy for our house is for "replacement value" and as weird as it sounds, a house can often cost more to build again than it is worth as your current home. If our house burns down or is destroyed by a tornado, I want to be able to build a new house.
Our contents is a percentage of the house value. No doubt replacing the furniture and clothes and other "stuff" would be expensive.
I have a separate umbrella policy for my wife's jewelry, and other valuable antiques.
We really need to do a new inventory, and walk through video to show the house and contents.
