I grew up a couple doors down from Vic and Eva Martino in the 60's and 70's. They owned Martinos Bakery in Burbank famous for Tea Cakes, Donuts, Fritters, Apple and Cherry turnovers and all sorts of mouth watering desserts. If Vic or Eva was out front of the home and saw a kid on the sidewalk or riding a bicycle they would stop you and send you home with a care package no charge. They owned the bakery from 1926 thru 1981 when they retired and Campbells Soup bought it.

I remember those fried McDonalds Apple turnover pies when they came in a paper sleeve. The orange drink was mixed in a giant fishbowl globe and many McD's were still open walk up counters.

Yes I am that old. Amerca was good.
