I've made my own Guava pastries here at home before because sadly, they aren't readily available elsewhere.
Guavas grow fine here. I have a tree at the house in town that I don't even water, but still gives fruits. I don't eat or drink too much guava stuff these days. What I did like was guava jelly/peanut butter sandwiches. Oh yeah, eating/drinking too much guava will plug you up!

Love the story Shaun, brings back great memories.

The first McD's opened in my town in the mid 70's, you would have thought it was the opening of a gourmet restaurant with lines out the door for weeks on end. Prior to that the closest McD's was about forty-five minutes away, so it was a very special treat to have McD's, usually for back-to-school clothes shopping or Christmas shopping.

After the McD's opened in my town it became the place to go to in the winter after a few hours of sledding, Fries, apple pie and hot chocolate. In high school we all met up after football and basketball games for fries and apple pie before heading to wherever the party was that night, it was our version of Arnold's Diner.
The first McD's opened a few miles from my house back in 1968. In the early 70s, mom would go and pick up Sunday breakfast. All I remember is it came in a thick paper kind of box with pockets inside to hold condiments.
