Ok it has a medical term. Coprophagia! Eating one's own turds. Yes its alarming and disturbing. Not as bad as eating ones young though.

They have a medication. Oddly its Mono sodium glutamate! Like you are going to sprinkle that on your dogs breakfast. It's supposed to make that turd taste foul and break pup of disturbing habit. Nonsense. It makes them sick, then they want to eat more poo to clear the stomach distress of said cure.

Let dog out in the morning the hunt is on. All turds are open game, the fresher the better. Targets the hot steaming ones. Infrared homing detection is switched on.

The song "Been caught Stealing" by Janes Addiction was about a dog with a Coprophagia problem.

The vet will tell you it’s actually considered normal — even common — for dogs to eat the droppings of other non-canine animals. But, it's relatively unusual for adult dogs to eat their own poop. In some circles it’s seen as a habit, while in others, it’s considered a disorder. Dear Vet, tell that to my dog!

No we are not going to the park until this habit is broken.
